How many times have you passed by a homeless person and felt like you wanted to help but instead ignored them? Project Homeless Connect is breaking the myth that people do not seek assistance and services and would simply prefer to be on the street. Data proves that when people are approached in a respectful and kind manner, and with available and appropriate resources, they are eager to accept help towards self-sufficiency. It is estimated that between 6,000 and 12,000 people are homeless in San Francisco. Volunteer Volunteers should head upstairs when they arrive at Bill Graham to sign in at the Jewish community table.
- Encourage volunteers to make it to the volunteer rally at 9 AM to hear Rabbi Mintz welcome the community.
- When you arrive at Bill Graham, be sure to register upstairs at the Jewish Community table.
- Almost all volunteers are ‘general’ and will be assigned and trained when they arrive (most likely in ‘escorting’ or a ‘check-in’ or ‘check-out’)

- Collect items for hygiene kits to be distributed on the 3rd. Drop off items at any partnering organizations.
- Encourage your synagogue or community organization to partner.
