PJ Library Classroom Storytime

We dropped in on a storytime in the Aleph classrom of three and four year olds at the Early Childhood Education Center at the Osher Marin JCC in San Rafael. They were waiting eagerly to hear the story of Joseph Had a Little Overcoat, by Simms Taback, a featured book of The PJ Library®. The story is about Joseph, a Jewish farmer who has a little striped overcoat. When it is old, Joseph makes it into a little jacket and so on until he makes it into a button. Then Joseph loses the button and makes a story out of it. The moral of the story is "you can always make something out of nothing." The kids listened quietly as their teacher, Nancy, read the book and acted out different parts of the story. Here are some of the preschoolers thoughts on this beautiful story:
