Celebrate Harvey Milk Day
As an open, out and proud Gay and Jewish San Francisco elected official and community leader, Harvey Milk z”l embodied the type of activism that is still relevant and embraced in our community today. Harvey Milk stood for justice and equality across the intersections of oppression and for the first time this year, leaders across California are being asked to celebrate Harvey Milk Day on Saturday, May 22, 2010.
How will you celebrate the first annual Harvey Milk Day? The LGBT Alliance in cooperation with the state-wide advocacy group, California Faith for Equality wants to know. On our website we have provided a list of resources, places to volunteer and ideas to share the hope that Harvey Milk’s memory represents to so many people. These resources include:
