Meet the Novach Family of Santa Rosa
PJ Library® Family of the Month
Nicole and Wayne Novach moved to the Bay Area from Washington, D.C. in 2012, and welcomed baby Hazel into their family in June 2018. They love spending time outdoors and showing Hazel the beauty of Sonoma County.
Hazel has been receiving PJ Library books since she was 6 months old, and loves reading them with her parents during the day and at bedtime. Nicole and Wayne use the educational information from the inside flap and back covers to facilitate discussions about Jewish traditions and values. As an interfaith family – Nicole is Jewish and Wayne is not –both find PJ Library’s resources helpful as they build a Jewish home for Hazel and her future siblings.
The Novach family has found many opportunities to connect with Jewish life in Sonoma County, as well as the greater Bay Area. They enjoy celebrating holidays with their community at Congregation Shomrei Torah in Santa Rosa, and with new friends that they meet at local Jewish events. Some of their favorites are Jewish Mindfulness Meditation classes at the synagogue and community events such as Hands-On Chanukah at the Charles M. Schultz Museum in Santa Rosa. The family is also looking forward to taking advantage of even more opportunities in the Jewish community as Hazel grows older, such as sending her to Jewish summer camp.
Nicole is our new PJ Library Parent Connector!
As the new PJ Library Parent Connector in the Santa Rosa area, Nicole is actively building a community for families with kids from 0-3 years old. She has already planned events and looks forward to creating long-lasting friendships, celebrating Shabbat dinners and holidays, and enjoying outside adventures and playdates with other families.
